Program Domains

The HARTT Center provides individualized support, which allows students in special education to transition successfully from their role as high school students to their new role as adults in their community. The program provides support in any or all of the Transition Domains:

1. Independent Living:  Students will participate in daily living skills training, which includes using public transportation,   developing a personal budget or money-management system, and organizational skills.

2. Career Vocational:  Job development, on-the-job training, post-secondary training, job coaching, job folio, and possible paid employment.

3. Recreation and Leisure:  Explore community recreation centers. Plan and set up activities with peers, and participate in recreation activities of personal interest.

4. Social and Interpersonal Skills:  Participate in group activities, explore community resources for social connections, and practice appropriate social skills in the workplace.

5.Community Connections:  Connect students with adult agency providers, who will continue to provide support after the student leaves public education, on or before the age of 22.
